- Map - a flat picture of part or all of the
earth
- Globe - a small, sphere-shaped model of the
earth
- Cartographer is a
person who studies and makes maps.
- Make sure you know how awesome you are! Know that you
mean the world to me!
- Parts of a Map:
- Title - explains what the map is about
(purpose)
- Compass Rose - symbol on the map that shows
the directions
- Key/Legend - small section on a map that
explains what the symbols mean
- Symbol
- a mark or small drawing on a map
that represents something
- Scale - small chart that shows the distances
on a map
- Inset Map

a smaller map featured
on the same page as the main map.
Often, an inset
map is
used as a locator map to
help you see the location in a general sense of
the world.
