Thanks for being so awesome and thanks for being willing to dig in and
challenge yourself!
Here are a couple of things to consider:
- Maps
- Instead of just memorizing all 50 states which you probably already
know...you can challenge yourself to something that takes more work
- Capitals, Major Cities in each state, or another topic state
name origin, etc.
- Look at these
maps and investigate one of the maps/data - or check out these
maps also
- Map out something you are interested in based on a topic and
color cordinate the map based on a data range (a population topic,
etc - check out topic ideas from
StateMaster
- Investigate - Go beyond what you already know...
- Find out the nicknames for major US cities -
easy example: Philadelphia - City of Brotherly Love, etc
- Why did sports teams get their names
(geographical, cultural, or historical reasons are many of the reasons
behind their names)
- We will be doing a history bracket of important
dates coming up, but if you would like to make your own bracket based on
research you can - see me for more details
- Create a Top 10 list of different topics you
are interested based on the US - physical features, economic ideas,
largest, biggest, etc.
- Current events around the USA - maybe you can
create a "this side vs. this side" argument/poster
- Create
- You could create a CIA type of game like my
European CIA challenge
- Create a breakout box scenario - it is like an
Escape room at the mall, but in a classroom
- 3D physical map of the USA
- Collage of the US based on our American culture
Maybe you have something else in mind totally different
than what I am thinking...I am all game for it! I trust you and am excited
about your discovery into learning!
